(cm) Here is it, the
first trailer for the new
Friday the 13th
that hits theaters in early 2009. Marcus Nispel (The Texas
Chainsaw Massacre remake) directs for producer Michael Bay, who
anticipates as much success for this new re-imaging as they had
on Texas.
It's basically a remake of the first three flicks, as Jason
(Derek Mears) is the masked killer from the get go. In the old
series, Jasons' mom did the killing in 1, with he got his mask
late in part 3.
Story: Several teens (Amanda Righetti and others) try to survive
a night in summer camp Crystal Lake, as a mysterious and shadowy
figure named Jason Voorhes takes their lives one by one.
While the re-imaging of the Leatherface saga never archieved to
get the grittiness of the original, at least the style will
prevail as very good-looking.
New Jason also seems to be a bit more mobile in this new movie,
as he's clearly seen running after this victims.
The first trailer (watch it as long as it's out there) shows two
teenagers raiding Jason's hut, then finding Pamela Voorhees'
dried head and being attacked by Jason. Several clips of
running, stabbing and screaming ensue, with Jason hastingly
running after a girl in the final glimpse.
Trivia:
The makers of Freddy vs Jason planned to do another one, but
when it wasn't possible to include either Michael Myers, Pinhead
or Ash of the Evil Dead series, they stopped working on that
idea.
